Workout Wednesday: HIIT It

I've been feeling like I haven't been getting a lot of good, sweaty cardio in lately.  But, I kind of hate doing long cardio sessions in the gym, whether on the treadmill, bike, or elliptical. Plus, with all the snow on the ground in Jersey, not to mention the frigid temperatures, I can't really head outside for a jog or some biking or rollerblading. I mean, I could go outside, but that doesn't sound appealing at all.

So I came up with this workout to do after work last Friday and was literally dripping with sweat after about 10 minutes. (Which is impressive, since I was doing it in my dad's basement, which is generally fairly chilly.)  It will get your heart rate up, with 30 second bursts of activity.  It also adds in some strength moves that will give you a full body workout.  Plus, it's totally scalable - the whole sequence will take you 5 minutes. You can do it 2 times for a quick, 10-minute workout, or 6, 8, 10 times for a longer, sweatier workout.  It's all up to you.  Bonus: you don't need any equipment, so you can literally do it anywhere.

Enjoy!
